Hi, I'm Jerry Lane
A 25 year old photographer, filmmaker, blogger and web designer based in Ballybunion, Co. Kerry, Ireland. I'm passionate about and deeply inspired by nature. Born and raised on the coast I feel most at ease near the ocean and in nature, and i'm fascinated by the people that live life on the fringes of our beautiful little island.
As someone that has lived with an through severe anxiety and depression, I'm a staunch supporter of a more open dialogue on mental health and the promotion of positive mental health. I adore a good chat over a cup of Barry's tea, taking road trips with friends and seeking out the beauty in the mundane. The best things in life are friends, family, and life by the ocean.

From Humble Beginnings...
The sun was setting on a beautiful day in my hometown of Ballybunion. I found myself standing in the Atlantic as the water lapped around my knees; the sun slowly making its way down to the horizon over County Clare; the Banner. I found myself Intrigued by the way the light cut through the waves as they broke out to sea, illuminating shades of green and blue, with orange hues lining the droplets that splashed up from the surface. Mesmerised, I took out my iPhone 4 and started shooting photos, hoping to capture the magic that I saw right in front of me. The beginning of one of the most enjoyable journey's a person could go on. At that moment, I realised that there was so much more I could do with this tiny little phone in my hand. Much more than phone calls, or browsing the internet. I could create, and it felt great to do so. Every day since has been a lesson. A step on a much bigger path. This site is a reflection of that journey, so far, and will continue to be.
I have always loved spending time in nature; it's the perfect tonic for the stresses of life. As someone that has experienced severe anxiety, and depression, I cherish equally the ability to get lost in the peace and wildness of nature. I find solace in the sights, sound and smell of the ocean; from the gentle lapping of water against the shore to the sound of waves crashing against the cliffs in the heart of a storm. Moments like hearing the sound of approaching rains - unseen in that moment - as you hike around a mountain, waiting with bated breath for the cool breeze and raindrops to hit you. Or a calmer moment, like the gentle warmth of the summer sun & breeze on your back. The moments that make you feel alive. There is little greater in life than sharing these moments with those we love. Moments that I cherish. These images & prints, are created in the hope of inviting you to hopefully experience some of the sense of wonder, admiration, and respect that I felt for this beautiful little planet of ours while creating them. I want to see the world, and I'm tremendously proud to call Ireland my home. It is, in so many ways, a lovely place. These images try to reflect that, and in time, the beauty of more places that I aim to visit.
Above all else, I ask that you appreciate the beauty and power of the world you live in. Many people get too caught up our shortcomings as a race - myself included - leaving ourselves blind to the wonders around. This planet is a truly magnificent place, full of wonders that we can only live to admire and wander around; a place we are extraordinarily lucky to call our home. To share in that with those we love is a life well lived.
